The Biggest Winners

The world of the video slot betting machine would not survive if a few people didn't walk away as huge winners. It's the legends that these strikes create that leave people salivating and dreaming for a repeat performance.

Here is a selection of some of the best:

Elmer Sherwin

Some people call Elmer Sherwin the luckiest man on the planet. And why not, after the World War Two veteran won - not one - but two, multi-million dollar jackpots whilst playing video slot machines in Southern Nevada, over a 16-year period.

Sherwin first struck gold back in 1989 when he won $4.6 million playing the Megabucks slot machine at The Mirage Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Then incredibly, in 2005, Sherwin did it again. This time the windfall was even bigger. At 92-years of age Sherwin hit a jackpot of over $21 million, once again playing the Megabucks jackpot.

Amy Nishimura

In 2003, the Hawaiian native, Amy Nishimura, won over $8 million at the Fremont Hotel and Casino in Downtown Las Vegas, whilst playing the Megabucks progressive jackpot. Nishimura was approaching her 71st birthday, and had only spent less than $100, before her lucky win.

But the largest-ever Vegas jackpot haul belongs to an unnamed man, who was in town to watch the NCAA Basketball tournament back in March 2003. The achievement took place at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino where the 25-year old man turned an investment of $100 into a monumental sum of $39.7 million dollars.

Now that's what you call a series of jackpots.
